Modern, elegant looking fashion watch
I’ve worn Skagen as everyday watches for more than 25 years, and this one costs less today than the first one back then. Sleek designs that always look like they play well above their price point. The first few lasted 15 years and more, although the mesh band on this one doesn’t seem as well-made as those earlier ones. Very readable dial as long as there’s some light, Recommended for its excellent value.

Simply elegant.
The simplicity and the elegance of the design is great. This watch is meant to do one and only one thing – tell the current time accurately. So far, it seems to be doing that quite well. Love the adjustable metal strap, the matte black finish and the understated light grey lines on the black dial. Everything is subtle. Just simple elegance.No dislikes.

Some details I missed.
Alright, so this is a very nice watch, especially for the price. But full disclosure, I can’t keep this. I specifically wanted a sweeping second hand watch, which this is not. (My fault not seeing “quartz”, but also Amazon’s fault for their terrible search filter, which probably includes reviews.) Another review described the watches second hand as “sweeping”, which (admittedly foolishly on my part) gave me hope this was smooth movement. Its quartz movement, which is a per-second tick. (NOT high bph like 21600 or 28000 bph.) But, that being said, its very quiet, even with my very sensitive hearing. I can barely hear it at 5 inches away in a quiet room. I’m sure it would be inaudible at 20 inches down by my side at night when sleeping.Now, I’m not a shnob for quality, but another review said “the second hand is misaligned with the watchface” and this is true. Mine is too. (Check photo.) I personally could live with it, but it would be a bit annoying for actual accurate countdown timing.The leather band is nice. It’s 20mm. It has a tool-less release. It’s real leather, sealed thickly to a smooth polish, not fuzzy with hairs. The metal clasp is brushed metal, black. Nice touch.The case is 7mm thin. Not thick at all, something I prefer. In fact, the whole reason I bought this was the thin case, as I slide my arms in tight spaces often and absolutely HATE (with a passion) thick watches and arm bands that get caught. So, including the crown, I measured 41mm. Without, it’s about 39mm. Top to bottom is 46mm (from the top pair of rod-holders to the bottom pair). The leather bands are 2.5mm thick. Total watch length (excluding the clasp) is 9.5″, or 235mm. There are two band-holder loops for the excess band. The one nearest to the clasp is affixed to the band and does not move. The second one is loose and slides along the band. There are 10 notch holes in the band.The lume (glow in the dark) is okay I guess. It’s better than nothing. Personally, I don’t understand the point of passive glow-in-the-dark lumes on a battery-powered watch, since the lume charge only last like 15-20 minutes, even with intense light. Like seriously, why aren’t all watched lit with tritium? It’s not even that expensive, like $10-15 for a few indicators. Also, coming from a smartwatch with tilt-to-brighten, these short-lived lumes are just painfully annoying. Any watch I get will get the tritium treatment. (Mixglo sells wide varieties of shapes.)Lastly, the glass seems to have a tiny bit dusty, and I think it’s on the inside. Again, not a shnob, I couldnt care less. Doesnt really affect my ability to glance at the time. But, if this is brand new (it is not, clearly been opened before), why’s it dirty? I wouldn’t mind taking it apart and cleaning it, but I know most other people are not willing to clean it, which is unacceptable by their standard.So anyways, it’s a lovely watch, minus those imperfections. I would keep it, but I’ve got some odd (lets be honest: unfair) stringently specific requirements for my time-pieces.

Striking but…
The media could not be loaded.
Fit, color, quality all what you’d want them to be. Love it.Edit: After wearing the watch for about a week the leather wears faster than you’d think and the glow in the dark feature really doesn’t work unless you shine a flashlight directly on it for> 30 seconds

I like the simple classy look of this Skagen wristwatch. I have many Skagen watches. The only qualm I have with them is that Skagen does not support replacing the bands very well. I have two Skagen watches with bands that are not Skagen.

Very good looking watch
I have several watches. (It’s not the same as being a watch collector because those people have $1000+ watches mostly.)This one was a steal at $70 if judged only on its looks. In the picture, you’ll see it is nearly as good as a Lillenthal Berlin watch of the year for design. It’s close but not quite an equal. The award winner goes for $200-300.In the other picture, you’ll see it next to fairer competition. The Tommy Hilfiger watch was bought for $80 here on Amazon. In its own right it is a beautiful watch too. But it looks clumsy next to these two.

Unfortunately stopped working…
The watch itself hit the exact aesthetic I was looking for. Simple, clean, and kept good time. Unfortunately, about 2 years after purchase, it stopped working and replacing the battery did nothing to get it moving again. I’m glad I got 2 years of wear out of it, but I didn’t wear it very often and only in white collar, light use environments, so it’s very disappointing that it didn’t last longer than that. Upon opening the watch to replace the battery, I found most of the case taken up by cheap plastic, where the actual watch itself was maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the size, including the battery. Nice aesthetic, but something I would value closer to $20 max rather than the $70+ I paid at the time.

Contemporary Fashionable Watch
Very simple, contemporary design. The watch is very readable and looks great! I am a male with a smaller wrist, but the watch profile works well for my frame. I purchased the mesh band…I have 3 minor complaints. 1. I didn’t realize a mesh band likes to tug at arm hair. Not a design flaw, but it’s your PSA of the day. 2. The clasp on the mesh band is a little tricky to adjust, be sure to watch one of the many videos to see how it’s done. 3. My secondary clasp (the “show” clasp with the Skagen logo) was loose when I received it. It wouldn’t hold fast to the rest of the clasp, and the dangling became annoying. I gingerly tapped the sides of the connecting-end of this piece with a full-size hammer. I may have scratched the surface of this piece in some places slightly, but it isn’t noticeable.All in all, a stylish piece to wear around your wrist at the office or special occasions. Would recommend (especially for those with smaller wrists).

Love Skagen!
I have a number ofSkagen watches and love how slender and sleek they are. I have always gone for the leather strap, however decided to try a mesh band and love it. It was easy to size and attach the band. My only issue is with the black face and numbers, it is difficult to see. I wear for dress occasions so it is more about the rather than being able to tell time. Skagen gets my vote for price point and for a wide variety of options.

Very nice
Very nice watch. I purchased the grey silver and it’s perfect. The band is sleek and looks great. I’m not watch expert but if you don’t have money to burn you can’t go wrong here. Now how long will the battery last? 1 big star deduction for no manual I’ve never had a clasp band before and had to consult you tube to attach it on my wrist.

I have owned several Skagen wrist watches, and this one is very nice, for a good price. If I were to turn on my web camera, you would see that I am wearing it right now. The watch keeps excellent time, but I still manage to be late for supper!

Classic slim watch
This is a great watch, watch hands are very easy to read with the blue background and it’s such a slim case. Very comfortable to wear all day and the quick release straps make it very easy to swap other straps making this watch easy to wear for any occasion.

Decent dressy watch but fraudulent image for the sandblasted dial
Don’t want to make this too long so here are the basic points. 40mm is on the large side if you have a <7in wrist but this Skagen wears pretty small: the lugs stick out from the dial at a slant so it conforms to your wrist better than some poorly molded metal bracelets. I got a mesh bracelet if that matters. The dial Is very clean and I like the indexes and hour markers as an aesthetic. The second hand lines up correctly for half the clock face (the bottom half really) and then moves ticking halfway between minute markers. The crown is very minimalist, might be a deal breaker for some but I think it's alright for a dress watch: nice and subtle. My largest source of complaint is the fraudulent image of the "sandblasted" black dial. When I received the watch, the dial was a solid black without any texture, much like the simpler black dials in other versions of this watch. I would have enjoyed this watch much more with the sandblasted texturing, but be warned that you might just get one of their more basic inventory instead. At this price point, I'd probably just go with something else because you probably have a better shot at getting the item you order - Timex, Casio, etc.

Beautiful face, terrible band
I’m not a watch snob, but I like a visually appealing watch face. This fits the bill. It’s a little smaller than I expected, but I like how thin it is. My biggest complaint, and probably what will keep me from wearing it, is the cheap plastic watch band. The pictures make it look like leather. It’s not even a good faux leather.

Sturdy
I’ve had a few nice watches but this one is my favorite. I always seem to bang up my watch by just swinging my wrist carlessly into the doorframe or by getting water splashed all over it washing my hands but this one has remained intact. I’ve banged it on the metal door handle more times than I can count and it has not even a small scratch to show for it. I’ll put a picture of my last watch too just for comparison. (My last watch is the silver chain link)

Nice looking watch
I really like it because its so nice and casual. I bought it for $60 which I think was super cheap.I have 2 things I don’t like about it.The first is that the second hand is not properly aligned. I bought this one before and asked for a replacement, the misalignment was worse.The second issue is the crown, it kinda hurts and I feel that it’s not that tight on my wrist.In general I really like the look, but those 2 things annoy me and I’m considering returning it 😔

Not as good as my Casio
Nice looking watch. I’m a woman and was looking for a minimalist design. Unfortunately, immediately after buying, the leather band got a little water on it when I washed my hands and it stained. Not long after I started noticing scratches on yhe face. I have had the watch a year and I don’t even wear it every day (maybe 2-3 times a week) and it looks very worn and the scratches on the face are very noticeable. I’ve had a lot of watches and never had any scratch this badly. My $15 Casio watch is the one I wear most days and it has well outperformed the Skagen. I would not purchase another Skagen watch based on this experience.

Skagen “Signatur” Watch Battery Previously Activated Upon Openimg-Not Mads in Denmark!

CONS:1.Battery was previously activated upon opening of box. (See video)2. Metal strap was made in China per tag. (See photo)3. Japanese movement per tag (not Swiss or Denmark movement)4. Bottom of watch box shows packaging was made in Cambodia.5. Did not see anywhere on this watch where it was made in Denmark unless the manufacturer has a code stamp that indicates as such.PROS: Previously owned a Grenen watch similar to the Signatur brand dobthe look/feel of the braided steel band and thin watch appearance always attracted compliments.2. Reset time on watch with stem and so far after wearing the watch, its keeping good time as monitored with my cell phone.3. Watch band was easily adjustable, as I’ve had this watch before with the Green watch so it came natural for me to adjust the band clasp with fingers; no tools necessary.4. Protective clear film plastic was applied on front/back of watch to prevent scratching.5. Very comfortable to wear and look forward to many years of service with this new watch

Attractive, functional watch

Just Another Real Review.
For the past few years, I have liked buying one watch per year; I guess I am starting a small collection. I spent a couple of weeks this year looking for a new watch that was less than $200. I checked the local stores, but did not find anything that I liked in that price range at all. I ended up buying around 5 or 6 different watches online (all of the watches had free returns), with the intention of only keeping one. This ended up being my favorite.Several of the watches that I ordered had a very different color in person, but this particular watch’s Amazon photos and video are very much accurate. I am actually surprised that I get less compliments with this watch than I do with most of my other watches, but I think that is because this watch is understated because of its minimalist design; this watch is very slim, sleek, and simple. This is actually my favorite watch right now.Unfortunately, I buy way too many things on Amazon. This is partly because I like to research product reviews very intensely when making purchases. I am a super poor college student that got absolutely nothing for free or discounted 🙁 I just wanted to pass on my real review to help others like me that use Amazon too much. Strikingly simple face
Have had Skagen watches for years. I like the simplest face possible. This is great, a bit bigger size than the others. I retired 6 years ago and quit wearing a watch. Now starting some long distance air travel again, I wanted a watch so I didn’t have to look at my phone on the plane and in restaurants. The only drawback for me is the face is a bit hard to read in very subdued light. The only thing I would have liked better is a titanium vs stainless steel case. Couldn’t find Ti cased watches I liked as well. Otherwise, I love it.

Love this watch
Read all the negative reviews and now having the watch on my wrist find them to be wildly overstated. The dial on the gunmetal color is visible in low light and the second hand is easily discernable from the minute hand in low light. Only a few minor quiibbles. The stem is so tiny that it is dificult to manipulate with my larger fingers. Adjusting the band width is difficult. As long as the water proofing holds up in the shower, this will become my favorite watch.

Basically a one-time use watch. Replace the battery at your own risk.
I do appreciate how thin it is, but I couldn’t get the back case on after replacing the battery. Tried gently, tried gently with tools, tried roughly with tools. Brought it to a jeweler and they still couldn’t get it on. Took it to another jeweler who used so much force it broke the mechanism inside. Nice while it lasted but this is not even close to a forever watch.
