These are very good headphones – “good” sounding, but not necessarily realistic

Let’s face it my audiophile and/or sound enthusiast Homies, there are lots of inexpensive headphones out there of all types, and to be honest, if you do your homework, you can find quite a few of them that are quite satisfying. And if you can temporarily shelve that “condescending mindset about having to have higher cost audio gear” for a moment, you’ll see what I’m talking about.Over the past 6 months or so, I’ve been on a binge of purchasing inexpensive (or relatively expensive) headphones from a variety of makers. And yes, some are – what appear to be – cheap Asian knock-offs. But some – noooo, make that quite a few – are very good in their audio qualities. Now do keep in mind that I also have more expensive Planars in my collection, but I just wanted to see what the cheaper lot had to offer. Now enter this model – generically known as the “Over Ear Headphone.” It arrives in a nice box and is very, very light. I purchased the silver and brown model which has a nice rich look to it appearance-wise. Now, it’s not made from titanium or any other more premium material – just lots of plastic and vinyl in this particular set of cans. After all, you’re paying less than $40 USD for these, so keep your expectations real. Fit-wise, they are downright comfortable and for me, there is absolutely no need to upgrade the pads – they are plush and cover the ears perfectly. Now if your ears look the size of Walt Disney’s Dumbo, then you may have issues. Now on to the sound. Now keep in mind that when I blog about and/or review audio gear, I tend to balance a variety of scenarios – mainly how much an item costs vs its performance levels. And this is a very good sounding headphone. Now, do not confuse “good” with “realistic.” There are many pieces of audio gear out there that sound good (meaning pleasant), and there are fewer gear (in this case headphones) that sound stunning and realistic – and those are usually in the monitor category.I always evaluate audio gear using classical music, big band jazz, other orchestra types, conventional jazz, and Latin jazz. Why? Because the test of any audio gear is to see how it handles a variety of musical instruments, whether performing separately, or combined like in the full crescendo of a symphony orchestra or big band. Playing/evaluating headphones with hard rock or heavy metal doesn’t do them justice (in my opinion of course). The Over Ear Headphone (what a dumb generic name) has a nice, rich sound quality to them which should please most listeners. Now for we audiophiles (and you know who you are), there is the feeling of having a slight veil over the music – almost as if somebody were listening to a performance seated behind a set of curtains. That is, they sound very good, but there is something missing – and that something is the lack of feeling like your being there. The music is well balanced and you can wear these headphones for a very long time without fatigue. There are some of the best cans in this price range, so keep that in mind. Now if you want to experience more of a realistic sound structure with excellent imaging, superb sound-staging, and more, add another $30 USD or so to your budget (putting you in the $60 to $80 price range) and you could do much better with the likes of the HiFiMan HE-35XS, or the Brainwavz Audio HM5, or the OKCSC-Zx-1 (with mods). Those 3 headphones render superb soundstaging, accurate instrument timbres, excellent image placement, hall ambience, and more!In the end, I’d have to say that using the much heralded Philips SHP-9500 cans and comparing them against this “Over the Ear” set of headphones, I prefer the Philips hands down. But again, if you’re in the price range that these cans run for, you can’t go wrong – plus they’re very comfortable.

EQ’d very high in the bass, but extremely

In comparison to my Sennheiser and Audio-Technica headphones, it is immediately obvious that these things have some fixed equalization built into the audio circuitry. The bass is punched VERY high, and I don’t know of thats to take advantage of the frequency response on these speakers, or to compensate for it. In a quiet room the bass is actually too intense and felt overpowering, but I could see this being very useful in a loud environment (like a car or public transit) where white noise drowns out the lower frequencies. The fit is fantastic, these are extremely comfortable to wear. The cushion is thick and fluffy, and the structure is very light weight. However, they also feel extremely cheap and I wonder how this faux leather will hold up over time. The plastic squeaks as it flexes and the whole thing feels like it could shatter if they got sat on.I bought this specifically for my daughter, and I wanted headphones with a coiled cord that was replaceable, since she has a tendency to forget she has headphones on and try to walk away without remembering to take them off first. The coil is quite a bit smaller and shorter than I expected, in that regard, but since it isn’t attached I can find another one if she breaks this one.Knocking off a star because of the over powered bass and flimsy feel. Otherwise I’d say they’re pretty good for the price.

Good headphones & good customer support

I had these headphones for about 1.5 years before a part came loose that made one of the cups not fit properly on my ear. A couple of emails to the company later, I had a new pair on the way to me, which I received within just a few days. So, enjoy and buy with confidence that if you encounter any issues, you’re likely to receive excellent customer care.

Bass Heavy cans with HORRID head feel

I have been looking for a good set of cans that would compete with some of the others that I have had in the past. I have been a big fan of the Sony MDR-XB700, XB900, XB950BT mostly for the bass heavy response and amazing all day head wear. the issue is that Sony stopped making these and the 910 and 901BT units are a joke to the line (IMHO)…. I have tried other from SkullCandy such as the hash and earlier crushers… while these make your head thump it is an artificial thump and so painful as it is more of a shake vs thump, on top of that the clamping force is INSANE with the hash units. I thought about getting a set of MDX-50x units, but after having the 30, 40 and original 50s I was not that impressed. If you are not using a DAC on a laptop with those they started to drop off after a bit or needed a lot of EQ work to really make them sound good. Now to these cans. I have to say I have never had anything from them and at $40 I was not expecting a lot of them. I was looking for a cans that did not sound like I strapped a couple soup cans to my ears and ran electricity to them. I also would prefer that they NOT look like crap, or some flashy weirdness. These fit the bill.PROS:Looks are clean and simple…Included both a partially coiled 1/4 to 1/8 and 1/8-1/8 male-male (both) for connecting either ear cup.Cords are long enough to sit on a laptop and you can move your head not worrying your laptop is coming with youSound profile is much deeper on the bass sidecan pads are thick and plushCONS:super light clamping force causes the cups to swivel if your ears don’t fit perfectly insideheadband pad is a brick… I can only wear these maybe an hour and it feels like I had a stone sitting on my headunits are fully plastic so I am not sure about the longevity if going in an out of a bag all the timemiss are 100% lost in the sound profile… since the bass is so pronounced, they boosted the tweeters to try and fill out the sound. this just causes that middle area to disappearI am mostly a EDM, METAL listener but I love classic much also. I listened to a few hours of much from Elephunt, Metallica, Bach, Chemical Brothers, Beastie Boys and mudvayne… I did not test any Jazz, Folk, Country as I could not appreciate the subtleness of the sounds since I do not know them.CONCLUSION:For the most part my style of music with the volume up and a the eq tweaked to a little flatter profile they are amazing for $40 cans. They will NOT compete with the Sony XBR, the MDX50x in overall profile of sound though. If that is what you want then you have to spend 3-4X the costs of these. Would I suggest these to people… that is a tough call, again you need to have a total desire for a deep bass profile on music, and willing to understand you will have to take these off after an hour or so to allow the dent in your head to subside. If the company could put some of the same care to the band padding they did with the can covers then different story. I also wish the cans were a little larger in the opening… I don’t have huge ears, but I had to tuck the top of my ear into the cup area to get them to sit flush on my head. overall again at $40 I suspect they will last me about a year or so of 4-5hr a day usage 6x a week at work and so that is a good investment. I am not 100% sure I would buy another pair though without some upgrades in the cushioning as a good sound that you cannot listen to is not worth any cost.

    Great sound quality, average isolation

(TLDR: as noted in the headline, the Pro-30s are great headphones for most purposes, but they don’t quite block *all* external sound.)So, I’m going to start this out with a disclaimer: I now work in an unusually loud office space. Not from noisy people, mind you; rather, from an unusually loud air conditioning system, directly over my head. No, it’s not a server room; I’ve done that kind of thing in the past, and that’s actually much louder. But still, it’s… not great. The headphones that I was looking to replace are a pair of Philips SBC HP250 over-the-ear headphones that I think are somewhere in the neighborhood of fifteen years old. (Mind you, I’ve also used other headphones, so that’s not my only point-of-reference — but it’s the most important one for this particular purpose.) The only thing I ever had against the ancient Philips was that they have absolutely no isolation at all; absolutely everything from the outside world is completely audible without the slightest hint of muffling. This could actually be a pro or a con, depending on your needs — but in my case, this was obviously the reason that I was finally seeking out a replacement.I read the listing and the other reviews while evaluating the Pro-30s for purchase, and developed the impression that their passive sound isolation was really good, so I went for it. And they are indeed at least better than my Philips, in that regard; I would say that they probably cut the background noise of that AC unit by about half, which isn’t at all bad. I would have liked something a bit better, like the Beats Solo2 wired headphones I use at home which cut out almost all exterior sound — but in all fairness, the Pro-30s are also far more comfortable than the Beats, and comfort is actually important when you’re wearing them for hours at a time. I guess you have to give up one thing to get the other, in some cases. As for sound: I was actually far more impressed with the sound quality of the Pro-30s than I anticipated. The large drivers really make a difference; they produce very impressive bass which easily competes with my Beats — which cost way more, by the way. The reason I still had the Philips at work, which have travelled with me through several different jobs over the years, is that while they were a fairly inexpensive pair, they still have really good sound quality… but after having used the Pro-30s for the past month, I’m quite satisfied that they are a very acceptable replacement for my previously reliable Philips. As a side note: I took the Philips home and used them there for several more months after buying the Pro-30s for work. Well, the Philips finally kicked the bucket, and stopped working altogether — and I can’t find my Beats for some reason. So ironically, I replaced the Philips once again… with another set of Pro-30s. This is one of the few products which I have very contentedly purchased more than one of.Altogether, very satisfied.

I loved them to death. Build quality is not great, sound quality is.

I bought a pair about two years ago. The plastic piece that holds the swivel point to the strap finally broke. The plastic that holds holds them together is pretty flimsy and you have to be gentle with them. That’s really my major gripe with these. The plastic just disintegrates after less than a couple of years of constant use. The fabric of the ear cups lasted about a year before I needed to replace it. So the build quality isn’t great.Where this products earns major points is the sound. Oh I love how they sound and it really sucks that they completely fell apart this morning. Because headphones aren’t great if they aren’t at least a little durable. So if you plan on getting a pair know that the build quality it’s great, but the sound is amazing.

Purchased for my teen son. He loves them and has recommended them to his friends.

I purchased these headphones after the band on several others broke. My son uses them daily for school and chatting with friends. They seem to be holding up to the wear and tear of a teenager, and he loves the feel and quality. The only concern is that the mic seems to pick up ALL noise in the room, so when my son releases the mute button and tries to talk in his online class, they can all hear my end-of-business calls 15 feet away, but overall they are great headphones.

    Very comfortable and stylish

I bought these on prime day. They were a great deal, but even at the current price its a pretty good deal for what you get. Big headphones like these sometimes hurt your ears after a few hours of use, but I’ve gone a full work day with no issue. And the sound quality is really spectacular. It comes with 2 cords. One I think has a microphone and one doesn’t. Ive been able to use it in meetings and on personal zoom calls with no issue. Overall, totally recommend for people working from home, or anybody who appreciates a good product at a reasonable price.

    Ok headphones

These headphones are ok, nothing spectacular. They will do the job that I bought them for. The headphones are made of a cheap hard plastic and the speakers are very movable when you are holding them in your hand. The sound is good, the bass is good. Like I said earlier, they will do their job. Only bought them to have headphones to listen to music while walking and to have headphones while watching movies on my Imac.***UPDATE***At first I thought the headphones were ok, now they are horrible. The wire connections to the headphones are severely weak and you need to keep messing with them to hear anything. Also, the brown wire connection is too heavy on one end, the headphones keep moving down on the left side. Don’t buy these.

    Good for the price

For the price these are pretty darn good. Just dont expect the quality of paying for a more expensive product. The default sound would be an extreme “V” if setting an equalizer. Bass is very good high end pretty good but the mid range is almost is very soft. Playiing with your EQ you can get some really good sounds but if you increase the mid range too much you will get the dreaded barrel echo. The really positive side is they can take alot of power. At 57 byears old, I still think I am a teenager and BLAST music into my ears. Gone through many headsets because of tearing and rattling. In the end would I buy these again? Absolutely. I was hoping for just a wee bit better but there is still a good product here.

Definitely not for audiophiles. I wouldn’t use for mastering, but great for guitar practice.

Test songs – Connected to a Scarlett 2i2 all top settings, via thunderbolt on a mac mini.1. Melody Gardot – March for Mingus (Live) – Lows are a little (lot) too prevalent, drowning out some detail in the upright bass solo of Sam Minaie. However, the hi-hats, whistles and other higher-end items come through clear enough. Piano at 4:00 on is a bit muddled, sax’s almost have a hard time cutting through other instruments. Melody’s vocals usually cut through like a hot knife through butter at 8:30 but are washed away.2. Pink Floyd – Time – The clocks and alarms sound muffled, The metronome/clock tick in the background sounds cheap, the toms usually full and expansive are flat and sound almost filtered. However, the vocals coming in at 2:18 vut through and sound okay. Gilmours guitar parts cut through cleanly and the organ on the right channel sounds wonderful and clear… The best sounding instrument on the track. Guitar solo at 3:20 hidden behind the mids/muddled bass3. Aerosmith – Walk this Way (Live)A little south of Sanity Disc 2 – This is always my last choice for songs to test audio because it’s a very “busy” track and mix, in my opinion, is fantastic. Picking out the instruments individually in this song is usually easy. Bass is clear and punch, drums are punchy but missing some detail in the cymbals, guitar cuts through but sounds a bit filtered. Vocals also sound filtered.Guitar via Amp:I think this is where these things shine the most. I bought them for quiet practicing at night. I would have liked to use them for mixing too, but I don’t think these would help me make a passable master. Plugged into my amps, I have to turn down the bass, but they sound wonderful.I fell into the review hype, and should have known better. But hey for the price, these will definitely get a lot of “miles” on my practice rig.

    Crisp Sound

The sound quality is crisp but the bass seems to be lacking. The sound is clear and crisp, but as far as music depth goes….a bit lacking. I can see where these are a great mid-range solution for music production, as the sound is crystal clear. But if one is just wanting to listen to music, the highs are never quite high and the lows are never quite low. They are very comfortable but the noise cancelation is nearly non-existent (my earbuds provided more). These would be good for mixing, podcasts, live streams, audio books, etc. But enjoying music almost always comes through lacking.

    Good but cheaply made.

Good headphones, the fit is excellent, it is not tight like many have said on here. Maybe they just have oversized heads. The one truth that stands through all the reviews is the cheap quality on the swivel joints. I bought my headphones 02-18-2020 and they were great, the double pairing works well on road trips, but I mostly use them at my desk as I sit behind a desk for 10-12 hrs a day I tend to be in headphones for a majority of the time. The 3.5mm jack broke within 4 months of using and the cable end with 4 band broke also, so I switch to the line 6.35mm jack and the longer wire really does work better behind the desk I just had to buy a mic now for the desk. Not a problem, as I really like these headphones and their fit. I wish they made them a bit stronger. I filed for warranty 02-03-2021 now that both swivels are broken, and I was getting by with ducttape holding them. We will see what becomes of it.UPDATE 8-27-2021: Warranty covered everything and so far they are still working very well no weak points on the second pair.UPDATE 10-16-2023: This was the second pair that was from the warranty. It had a similar weak point, but as of 4 months ago the cushions started ripping, flaky chips falling off, and today I ended up ripping off the cushions because they were falling apart to inspect their sealing area. The seal is good and there is potential to replace them but I don’t know if it makes sense too. My final verdict with these headphones is the weak point swivel needs to be legitimately addressed and the cushions could be of better quality. They are not noise canceling but they are a tight seal and suppress ambient noise. If you are buying them realistically you get about one year tops from them and this is coming from a person who sits behind a monitor for 10-12 hours a day with minimal movement aside from putting them on and taking them off, if you are a musician or using them while moving around I would not trust them to last much longer.

Decent headphones, especially for the price

I bought a pair of used ones in “Good” quality. They seem to look new to me. I decided to do an earphone test on youtube (name below) and got the following results.ULTIMATE HEADPHONE TEST !!! (Wear Headphone) 8K:Range: 10-12900 😃Buzz: Fail 😥Driver: Pass 😃R/L and Pan: Pass 😃The sound is ok especially for the price. These definitely wont rattle your skull, and the highs are a little too tinny for me. I think this could be corrected in an EQ though. I had a pair of jbl ear buds around this price that were better, but I’d say its better than my logitech mic headset around this price.I noticed that if i just turn up the volume to 80+ on my PC, there is a hissing, and occasional crackling. This may have to do with it going from the thicker audio cable from the headphones down to the 3.5mm jack. I’m just using the brown spring cord, not the thinner cord. They seem pretty comfy, though I could see them bothering me after several hours. They are a little floppy when trying to put them on or off, but sit on the head fine.Edit: After raising the base and lowering treble in my simple eq, i got them sounding a little better. I also spent a few hours wearing, and after about 2 hours my ears began to get sore and after about 4 they are unbearable. Not a deal breaker, just expect to take breaks gamer bros.

Nice cans at an excellent value, some QC issues but fantastic company!

Me: I’ve been a musician for 30+years. I’ve fronted a rock band, sat first chair in a symphony and performed with all kinds of groups. I do instrumental and vocal work, as well as DJing and producing music. I spend more hours in headphones than anyone I know and I have lots of different kinds.I DJ with in-ear monitors, so I bought these for casual listening, backups/consumer references for tracking and mixing, and situations where I’m playing with another electronic artist and I need to hear the mains directly. I hoped these would have enough sound quality to be up to the task, but be cheap enough that I could use them as backups and not worry about leaving them at a venue.Model reviewed: I bought the Pro-30 Upgraded Standard version in silver and brown.First, the good: These headphones sound great, especially for the price. They’ve got a V-shaped “consumer” tuning, as you would expect, but not as extreme as Beats or Monsters. It’s actually pretty accurate if you’re looking to reference quality consumer gear tuning profiles, not “audiophile” or studio reference profiles. The soundstage and separation are good, the clarity is good, mids are full and forward but balanced, treble is clear but not peircing or sibilant, and with the volume turned up, the bass really rumbles without getting muddy. Overall, they’re nice and warm, but still detailed, full, and not overly colored. I don’t think you could get better sound at this price or even 3x this price. They may or may not be up to audiophile standards (I don’t consider myself one) but they certainly reach the hi-fi bar. They’ll also please any bassheads without muddying up the music. They’re great casual listening headphones and with some EQing, depending on your preference, would be useful for mixing or tracking. I’ve found for hip hop and EDM they don’t need any adjustment for music production. The tuning isn’t skewed for bass, but they’re not thin, cold, “reference” headphones either. I actually like them much better than the AKG K92s that sell for $20 – $30 more, and I like them better than the Monster DNA 40s.I also tried them out for DJing and played about half a set with them. No issues at all with that application, although I switched back to my in-ears after a couple hours and since that’s my preference, I can’t give a full review specifically for DJ purposes. The double-sided cable and audio pass-through features are very smart and quite useful. I found that I used it as a built-in headphone splitter for casual listening and movie watching with my partner much more than I thought I would. I also used them connected to two audio sources to mix tracks from my DAW and listen to references tracks from a music player. I also listened to music while having a phone conversation. It’s a brilliant feature! The fact that two removable cables and a bag are included at this price is awesome. The earcups are incredibly plush and comfortable and provide a good seal. I cannot overstate the comfort of these earpads. It’s like a broken-in kidd leather couch on your head. I can only describe them as “buttery”. They’re the most comfortable cushions I’ve ever worn and I don’t think you could find much better at any price. Ditto on the comfort of the headband. If you have big ears though, they may not be a good fit for you as the inner diameter of the cups isn’t that large. Perfect for my tiny ears and peanut head! They look very stylish and I really dig the retro brown colorway and matching cable. The bad: Build quality and QC could be better. My pair has one side where the adjustment notches are nice and snug and one side where they’re a bit loose and mushy. It’s not terrible, but noticeable. Also, I’ve only had these for maybe a couple weeks and I’ve only used them a few times and been gentle with them. I was jamming with another DJ yesterday and went to remove the cable to fold them and put them away. I pulled on the knurled connector cover just like you’re supposed to, not the cable or the strain relief. The cover popped right off the connector. I was kind of surprised to see that it’s only held on with a tiny bit of weak adhesive. Bummer, because I actually thought the strain relief design looked pretty beefy.A couple days later, the right side driver started dropping out intermittently. I’m hoping I just got a defective unit and that the overall durability of the brand is better.Sadly, I wouldn’t use them as main cans for DJing. I don’t think they’d stand up to hard use. Perfect for backups or spares though, for casual home listening or as budget reference cans.I’ll contact the company to see if they can help me out and update this review with my results.Update 2/8/19: The company actually contacted me before I got a hold of them to offer a replacement! Great customer service there. I asked them about buying a replacement brown cable (I always need extras on hand). They let me know that they don’t sell the brown cable separately, but they sent me a red one free of charge. Solid. No issues with the replacement cable. I think I just got a bad one.I haven’t gotten the replacement headphones yet, but I’ll update my review when I do.Update 2/13/19: I got the replacement headphones a few days ago, in about half the time they estimated! Unfortunately, they sent the wrong ones. I got the cheaper Pro-10s instead of the Pro-30’s I originally bought.I snapped a pic and emailed the company and got a reply literally within minutes. They apologized for the mistake and immediately sent me a replacement for the Pro-30’s. They told me to keep the Pro-10s and enjoy them. Fantastic customer service and I’m upgrading my original 3-star review to 4-stars just for how good OneAudio is to deal with.Since I get to try the Pro-10s, I’ll go ahead and review those and report back. I’ll also update this review when I get the replacement Pro-30’s and get to spend a little more time with them.Update 2/26/19:So I got my replacement Pro 30’s just a few days after OneAudio sent them out. Very timely. They work great. No issues with the driver or the cable. I’ve been spending more time with them; producing music, listening to music, preparing tracks for DJing, watching media and listening to podcasts. I’m appreciating them more and more. The comfort is incredible. The sound quality of the large, 50mm driver is very good, and especially impressive for the price. They are clear enough for critical listening but they’re not fatiguing, which is unusual. The warmth and richness of the mids are really pleasant and the thickness of the bass is a treat. The treble is slightly recessed in the tuning and while clear, it’s not sparkly, magical treble, if that’s your thing. The upside of that is that you can listen to these phones for hours without your ears getting worn out.OneAudio has been excellent to deal with and has shown a real commitment to customer service. The 24 month warranty is very generous and they actually stand by it. They definitely earned my future business.I’ve updated my review from 4 to 5 stars for the replacement set and for OneAudio’s customer service.Update 02/01/20: One year later, I still love these headphones to bits, I still enjoy listening to them, and I still use them all the time. My AKGs are still gathering dust. I’ve since bought a pair of Nuraphones which retail at $400 and I still reach for my OneOdios when I’m gaming, relaxing on the couch, watching Netflix, or referencing how tracks will sound on midrange consumer headphones. They don’t outperform my Nuras in sound, but they’re still enjoyable to listen to and the comfort is unmatched. The earpads have only gotten better as they’ve broken in. I haven’t been gentle with them at all and they’ve held up. If you’re looking for a comfortable, high-value headphone that sounds good, I still recommend these and would happily put them up against headphones at the $100 mark.If you want wireless, check out the OneOdio A70 Fusion, which I think an excellent all-around, workhorse headphone.

Get More Than You Pay For

The best (and most expensive) dynamic, circumaural (over-ear) headphones I’ve ever personally owned are the Crossfade M-100 by V-Moda. Therefore, this review of the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone will partially consist of the comparative differences between/similarities to my personal “reference” V-Moda Crossfade M-100 which, at six-and-three-quarter times (!) the price, are superior in a couple of ways to the Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone by OneOdio. While the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 are physically better equipped than the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 to withstand less than ideal conditions and/or abusive mishandling, one expectedly pays a premium for those qualities. Conversely, should one endeavor to refrain from mistreating the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone, there’s no reason that they shouldn’t last as long as the V-Moda Crossfade M-100. But, even if they didn’t last as long, the Studio Pro-30 are replaceable for a fraction of the cost of the Crossfade M-100.I believe that comfortable wear in a headphone is important, as is robust construction, and aesthetics. For me, when it comes to consideration of any headphone for purchase, the quality and character of audio reproduced by the headphone drivers themselves is paramount, forming the basis of my buying decision. The critical sonic characteristics of atmosphere, purity, naturalness, transparency, presence, immediacy, dynamics, soundfield depth, soundstage dimensionality, imaging stability and width, and elevated, but smooth, fluid, deep-bass reproduction are all as present (deep bass frequencies slightly more so) in the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone as in the V-Moda Crossfade M-100. Have I mentioned that the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 sells for less than one-sixth the price of the V-Moda Crossfade M-100?While the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 may be more “accurate” in overall frequency response, to my ears, the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone comes remarkably close to the performance of the Crossfade M-100. I learned this by way of direct, simultaneous, comparison by plugging both headphone pairs into the dual, stereo output jacks of a Parasound Zdac v.2 DAC & Headphone Amp playing familiar, well recorded material of CD quality or better, while listening to the left phone of the Crossfade M-100 on my left ear, and the right phone of the Studio Pro-30 on my right ear. Both the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 and the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 are spec’d at 32 Ohms, so I expected similar sensitivity, and I was right. To my ears, with the exception of producing slightly more bass, the performance of the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 was nearly indistinguishable over the remainder of the audio frequency spectrum from that of the V-Moda Crossfade M-100.The OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone provides luxurious comfort unsurpassed by any other circumaural, dynamic headphone, in my experience. This is important if one intends to listen for long periods, as I often do. Though the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 in no wise provides complete environmental noise isolation (having been designed more to keep sound in, than noise out, I suspect), their luxuriously thick, stylishly attractive, memory-foam padded, ultra-soft, brown, protein leather ear cushions and headband provide hours of non-fatiguing, blissful listening comfort and enjoyment. After all, no headphone that’s miserably uncomfortable to wear is going to “make the grade” for long listening sessions, and the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 excels at comfort far, far beyond it’s price point in my experience. This is not to say that the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 headphones are uncomfortable, just that they are not as comfortable for extended periods of wear compared to the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone.Accessories OneOdio chose to include with the Studio Pro-30 are thoughtful, if not of the finest quality. In the box, I found an owner’s manual and a nice, attractive, black, carry/storage bag with soft, red, nylon drawstrings and embossed OneOdio company logo on the front. Also included were a pair of separate connection cables; a black, microphone-integrated TRRS cable intended for use with a cellular telephone, and a brown (matching the ‘phones accouterments), reversible, stereo TRS cable which can be variously configured to accommodate differing situational requirements that are all detailed and explained in the included instruction manual.Unfortunately, these stock cables seem to be made of relatively inexpensive, thin, quite stiff, low-to-average quality materials. To me this comes as no surprise in light of the OneOdio Studio Pro-30’s low price. It seems a logical trade-off, since the sound reproduction quality of the Studio Pro-30 headphones themselves is where R&D funds and efforts were best expended. And, though the included cables (such as they are) handily serve their function, it’s unlikely anyone’s buying the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone for the included cables, anyway. For these reasons, I chose to replace the included stereo TRS cable with a thick, flexible, quality, hand-made, professional-grade, shielded, stereo, aftermarket, TRS audio cable by Nanyi, and then placed a snap-on ferrite core RF (Radio Frequency) filter on the end closest to the ‘phones. This decision, to my hopeful expectation and delight, elevated the already high-performing Studio Pro-30’s performance even higher! In the interest of being thorough, I probably should mention that the mechanical articulation range of the Studio Pro-30 seems an issue of contention for some. Being marketed for use as “DJ” headphones, their earcups are, as some describe them, rather “loose” and “floppy” and, compared to the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 (also marketed as a “DJ” headphone) and, perhaps, some other model brands, I suppose that they are. However, I do not personally view this, necessarily, as being a “negative”. And, in consideration of their sound reproduction quality, extreme comfort and relatively low cost, I can’t see why anyone should consider increased mechanical articulation to be a ‘deal breaker’, especially a DJ. I will say that the Studio Pro-30’s joints do tend to “creak” somewhat while wearing during the break in period, but in an generally unobtrusive way which seems to gradually lesson as time goes by, just as one might expect it to. Again, not something that should disqualify them from consideration. But, to each their own.Are the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 headphones perfect? No. Are they an “audiophile” item? Not really, though there’s more here for the average audiophile to like, than to dislike, in my opinion. Are there “better” headphones available? Certainly. However, in regards to price versus performance, headphone enthusiasts on a budget (or not) should rejoice over the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone. And, I would hesitate not at all in recommending them to anyone seeking an affordable, quality, full-size, luxuriously comfortable, stylishly handsome, circumaural, closed-back, dynamic headphone that does so much “right” and all for the right price, making them an outstanding value indeed. Proof, to be sure, that one need not spend a lot to get a lot. What’s more, the OneOdio Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphone comes standard with an on-line activated, 24-month manufacturer’s warrantee, demonstrating OneOdio’s confidence in the design, quality, reliability and fidelity of their impressive Studio Pro-30 DJ Headphones.

These are the complete package – incredible sound, max comfort, simple yet versatile, affordable.

I am now the proud owner of pair of OneOdio Pro-30 headphones. The brown and silver ones. I spent too much time shopping around for some new headphones. They had to be versatile, but simple, durable, yet comfortable, great sounding, even when loud, big, yet affordable; basically I wanted it all. When I came across these, it was love at first sight. The OneOdio Pro-30’s stood out with their generous size, affordable price, wired connection, and leather & steel looking finish. The massive padding makes them comfortable. Their generous size keeps them off of my ears completely. A light squeeze gives these fat cushions a firm grip on my head. The pads are on hinges and can flip 180 degrees and pivot 90 degrees so you can fold them up when on the go. The imitation leather finish doesn’t flake off like it does on other headphones that cost twice as much. Underneath is a metal headband connected to two metal “cans”. The hinges are largely plastic, but feel thick and durable. I think they have a nice balanced look that is both stylish and professional. The headphones do not feature noise cancellation circuitry, but they do significantly silence the world around me. These are probably not a good match for when riding a bike or some situation where you need to hear the world around you. They also do a good job of keeping my ears warm in cold weather. My ears did not overheat while using them at home for a few consecutive hours. I could wear these for a very long time without discomfort. I wanted simple, but versatile. One wire, no buttons, the ability to work with all sources is simple; but are they also versatile? These babies are built with 50 mm speakers, basically the biggest you’ll find in a pair of headphones. They’re rated at 32 ohms, which is the sweet spot for hooking up to a variety of sources; from portables like phones and Walkmans to higher voltage amplifiers. They have two different size input jacks; one on each side. You can use one of the jacks as an output and feed it to another pair of headphones. Out of the box, these headphones can connect to three different style jacks. Whether it be a microphone headset for your phone, a no-mic source like a portable CD player, or a source with the large quarter-inch jack like you would see on a guitar amp or home theater system. They come with 2 audio cables. One is a 3-pole audio cable with a small plug on one end and a large plug on the other. The second cable is a 4-pole cable with an in-line microphone. In other words, they’re ready for most wired situations. Most the time, you’ll probably be using them with one cable. Of course, none of this matters if they sound like crap. So, how do they sound? In one word – brilliant! I am fortunate enough to have several audio sources to connect to and I have several other headphones to compare to. OneOdio headphones come in two flavors of sound design; a balanced sound or bass heavy. These Pro-30’s are labeled “Dynamic Bass”, aka bass heavy. I like lots of bass and even more treble. I also listen to a lot of spoken word (podcast, television, stand-up comedy) and will be upset if the sound of speech is mudded with bass boost or words with the letter ‘s’ are slicing my my ear drums. When amplified, and with the right song, these headphones feel like they’re punching me with every hit of the kick drum. The sound is almost as full when not using a seperate amplifier. The mids stay clear in all situations, and the percussion is clear. I can tell when the drummer is using a brush on his cymbals, when a guitarist is using a pick, and so many details. When listening to symphony/orchestra, it’s a beautiful thing. I can hear all 50 instruments independently. Compared to mediocre speakers/headphones symphony/orchestra can sound like hot mess of noise. When listening to a live recording of my favorite rock bands, I feel like I’m at the concert. I wanted to high-five my friends, then light my Bic lighter and hold it up high, only to realize I’m sitting at home. Now I can “goto the concert” whenever I wish. It sounds like there’s an audience around me and a stage in front of me. It’s very loud while shockingly clear. I compared these headphones with my other headphones and it seriously made me want to throw my other headphones in the garbage. These will bring a tear to your eye when you hear new sounds from your favorite songs that you’ve heard 100 times before. The clarity and definition is in a class of its own. My only gripe is I found them for a better price on another site. Oh well, I’ll keep these and be happy. The supplied cables function well, but feel a little cheap. Since they disconnect from the headphones, they are easy to replace. I’m very happy I gave these a chance. I recommend them to everybody. I give them 5 stars; minus 1 star for the cheap feel on the cables, +1 extra star (6/5 stars) for the exceedingly high-quality sound.

Outstanding for the price (outstanding for headphones twice this price)

I know it is called a Pro 30, but this is not for the professional music producer or an audiophile, nor should you expect it to be at this price.Build Quality – It is made primarily of plastic, but it feels sturdy. It has a natural flex point at the center of the head band that relieves the stress from the points right above the cans where headphones normally break. The foam is springy and easily bounces back to form after being depressed for an extended period of time. The chords are good quality and give a nice tactile click when they seat fully into the jacks. Very satisfying and lets you know that a good connection has been achieved. The 3.5mm with inline mic cord is a little short. Sitting right beside my tower, it barely reaches. This is the reason for 1/2 a start being deductedComfort – The foam is soft and forms nicely to the shape of your head. The cans are deep enough that my ears are not pressed against the inside fabric. The padding on the underside of the headband makes for a very pleasant listening session. I am a large guy with a big head, but they do not squeeze my head like a vice. The natural flex point bends easily to relieve pressure.Sound – Now for the most important thing. How do they sound? I am not a producer. I do not use them professionally. I have however been a performer and know what things should sound like. The bass is good. It isn’t going to impress your 20 yr old fast & furious wanna be ricer with a 15k stereo, but it is an accurate representation of how bass should compliment the music, now overpower it. Mids are good with enough treble to make it sound just right. I played with some different EQ settings on my computer recording software, and these headphones were able to play them pleasantly. The volume is good too. I can make out speech in quite parts of movies, and the max volume is just enough to start to get uncomfortable. You will have enough volume, but I doubt there is enough to blow out your eardrums. I have used the 1/4 – 3.5mm cable both ways (1/4 plugged into headphones with the 3.5 plugged into my device and the other way around). I have used the 3.5mm to 3.5mm with in line mic on my computer and my phone. Both cables are great for incoming sound. The in line mic is cheap, and it shows. Sound is very mono and flat. Volume is a bit low. Had to hold the mic a couple inches closer to my mouth than where it hangs naturally. This is the reason for the other 1?2 star deduction. To be honest, You will be better off using the 1/4-3.5mm chord and a lavaliere mic both plugged into a splitter then plugged into the 3.5mm combo jack on your phone or computer. In a pinch it will work, just prepare to repeat yourself a few times.Overall, these are amazing. If they would just not have included the 3.5mm in line mic chord, I would have given these 5 stars, but, because it was in the box, I graded it. Either reduce the price by a couple dollars and not include it, or charge a few dollars more and include a better one. Either way, the headphones themselves are a rock star and don’t need a mic to shine all on their own. The people that are buying headphones like this, usually already have their on preferred mic situation handled. Good job on these, I will be recommending.

Fantastic sound and comfort within a flawed shell, great for the price

Everything about these head phones is fantastic excpet for the plastic joints that the headphones swivel around, with care these should last for a while but if you you use them everyday they probably wont last a year, mine fell apart after about 10 months, these are the longest lasting headphones i have had for the price., if they had an identical set made of metal hinges for twice or triple the price i would get them in a heartbeat

Great Customer Service and Comfortable Headset

I have bought more than one of these headsets over the years. I prefer over-the-ear headsets because I don’t like something sticking in my ears. But since I work online and wear them most of the day, I wanted a pair that was extremely comfortable and wouldn’t cause me to sweat. These were perfect – comfortable, canceled outside noise and easy to use. Most importantly, I didn’t sweat. At one point with my most recent pair, the right ear headphone screw became loose and couldn’t be fixed. So I contacted their customer service department (Amazon gave me the link). They asked for a description/picture of the problem and the label from the box. I didn’t have the latter so they accepted my Amazon order number. And within a week, they sent me a replacement pair. I would continue to buy these for their comfort and their excellent customer service.

Bass and Clear Quality Sound Goes Hand in Hand.

I used this product for listening to music and other studies. My like is bass and clear quality treble and midrange. Everything works aka balanced quality sound with extra bass. BOOM! My dislike is nothing. Again BOOM! Don’t change the sound of the BOOM! Thanks.

Over ear headphones with true sound.

I just got them. The look great. There L/R channels are clearly marked. The left headphones has the 1/4 ” jack and the right a 3.5mm jack. There are two cords included (one 3.5 mm stereo male to 3.5mm TRRS male with mic(microphone) and button inline. The other cord is a 1/4″ male stero to 3.5mm male stereo TRS). I will try them on shortly. There is also I decently cute carry bag. They do easily fit over my ears. The inside diameter is ~2 18 ” or about 5 cm. Wearing the headphones without audio reduces ambient noise around 20-40% (rough estimate). They are not over tight, but feel secure and comfortable. They have a neat look reminiscent of headphones from a few decades back. The sound is great. There very clear at any level. In my opinion they block a significant amount of background noise. I like to listen to music as “screne” music when I’m walking, this involves drowning out from some to all of the background noise. These work great. At peak volume on my cellphone it’s like having very clear 2 channel surround sound stereo and is intensley immersive. At mid volume I can whistle and barely notice it over my music. They are easy to not notice that you’re wearing them aside of the music (this adds to the illusion that the sound is “around you.”)Update 4 months later. I included some more pics with a reference object for size. The depth of the inside give ample room to not “scrunch”/ smash my ears. In 115° weather they get a Lil hit inside, but that’s to be expected from a tight seal. I tend to be very hard on my headphones; these are in near perfect condition still (other than a drop of glue I got inside from an art project.) I sometimes use both inputs at once (bear in mind this can pass audio (or bias) from one device to the other. Both cords still work fine. These are one of my favorite headphones I’ve ever worn (I grew up playing with production equipment and am almost 50, so I’ve tried many headphones. The cups are true “over ear” headphones. If your into recording stereo audio I did some interesting tests. The supplied mic is mono, however I have begun using these as direct conduction stereo mics using the headphones as mic on my digital recorders. This is where audio travels through the back of the headphones from my body to the speaker, not through the diaphragm solely. I turn the headphones backwards and lie the hard part against my chest with the diaphragms out; this is not as designed, but works quite well. If your into that I’d try it. As far as the frequency response seems very natural, with good respince in tge high end. My hearing is not what it used to be and I can hear the crickets in these better than other earphones / headsets ; Its like having a part of life I wasn’t able to enjoy ( krickets are ~ 7000 – 7200 Hz.) The cord with the 1/4″ jack has a stretchy wound section that is nice, similarly to the old telephone cords, but not flattened. The shielding is very nice and doesn’t seem to pickup any noise so far. I love these headphones. These are the only headphones I rember forgetting I was wearing in over 25 years; they rest very comfortably on my head, but don’t “slip” around much at all. The over head cushion is very nicely made.

Survived daily use for three years before breaking down.

So these headphones are great for the price. Really, fabulous. They sound good, they do their job, and they’re comfortable to wear with a long coiled cord and adapter included. I bought mine in April 2020 and they just finally broke to the point of replacement in February 2023. I wear these headphones daily for several hours as I work from home on my PC. I also wear them when gaming. The ear pads began showing serious wear quite suddenly about mid-2022 with the vinyl material on the outside of the foam cracking and flaking off in chunks. Not a deal breaker for me because I care more about sound than looks. Everything else in great condition until last night I went to put them on and the connector on the right side snapped. Unwearable now, but even then the sound is fine haha. I’ve ordered a different brand as replacement that doesn’t use plastic as an upgrade, but these served their purpose at the price point I needed very well. Just know that they won’t last forever, even for those of us who are very gentle with our belongings.

Had these for 3-4 years already!

I rarely write reviews but figured I would since I had initially thought about returning these 3-4 years ago after reading a few negative reviews back then. And I initially had some concerns with the tension on the top part of the headphonesBUT!!!! MAN I WAS WRONG! !I am glad I kept these gems, they’re super comfortable, durable, and the sound quality is great! The ear muffins are thick and very comfy. And the reversible headphone jack is a plus!As for wear and tear, there are none. Not sure if it’s bc I know how to take care of my headphones but these have surprisingly lasted me in near perfect condition since I’ve bought them. And the cord has not gone bad yet either, despite me being rough with it all these years. Which I am glad bc I lost the spare cord 2 years ago lolA friend of mine spent 300 dollars on beats studios a year ago and we did a side by side comparison, no surprise these head phones sounded wayyy better. Needless to say his beat studios headphones broke after 6 months lolSo if you’re planning on buying an affordable/nice looking headset, I highly recommend these as I speak from 3-4 year experience 🙂

    Surprisingly good for the price

Comfortable on the ears, and decent bass and crisp highs. Can’t complain considering the price. Are there better headphones out there? Sure. But again, for the price, I’m pleasantly surprised.I purchased these after my Sony Studio Monitor phones broke. Coincedentally, I noticed in reviews on the that a similar thing can happen to them…in the same area. So before I even put them on I put some strips of duct tape around the swivel area. To reinforce that area. (where it tends to break.) Why they (headphone designers/manufacturers) don’t use metal in that area, or at least very strong plastic, is puzzling to me.So…not bad. But be aware they can break. I don’t care what they look like, I’m intersted in the sound…so if you don’t care what they look !ike, yank out the duct tape!Edit 5/13/23Still going strong. Again though, if you don’t care what they look like, reinforce the swivel area. ( w duct tape etc) I never even think about them possibly breaking now. Beats spending more money buying new phones!

Excellent headphones at a surprisingly low price

I live in an apartment, and generally watch movies, etc. on my TV using headphones, so I can crank up the volume as loud as I want without disturbing my neighbors. A few years ago, I bought headphones that were at least three times the price of these and a couple of months ago they basically died (there ended up not being any volume in one side). I took a risk and decided to buy these headphones, despite the low price. Trust me, they are excellent!!! The only downside is that I have a big head, and I had to expand them as far as they can go. But that’s a minor gripe.

Great sound but weak connection where it rotates.

Great sound, comfortable, but broke after a few years. The piston that connects the ear part to the part that goes over you head is a weak point that can break. I put them in a suitcase and it was broke when I took them out. Maybe I should have been more careful because they were fine during use. Look at the round piston like place where each ear can rotate, it is a weak point that cannot take much force, It works great for rotating and the rest of the product is very durable. They need to make this point stronger like the rest of the headphones are.

Great sound, but some other compromises

I got the brown Pro-30’s. I’m pretty happy with them. They do seem tuned for bass which is fine for me as I mostly listen to alt rock. I did find that I don’t really want to use any bass enhancement on my amp or EQ because these headphones already have plenty. With that said the mids and highs are still good and these really do sound great. There are a couple negatives though… as some said they don’t seem to get very loud when connected to a mobile phone. I have pretty sensitive ears so they get loud enough for me but I can definitely appreciate that they may not for some people. I can’t handle going to rock concerns or movies, they are just too loud and I have to wear ear plugs – ruining the experience. So if you like that level of volume, these won’t do that on a mobile phone.Another negative is the build quality… they advertise them as durable and perhaps they will be; but they feel cheap and the plastic is just hollow and brittle. I feel that I have to be careful with these. Plus I just don’t like it when designers try to make something look like metal when it really isn’t. I should have got the black ones, but I really liked the brown ear cups.Everything else seems great though, and for the price its a great deal for what you primarily want – high quality audio reproduction. I listen to my vinyl records, CD’s, FLAC and MP3 music files with these and can hear the quality differences in all of these different media sources.Off topic now but for those wondering, I think audio CD’s and FLAC sounds better than the vinyl records – not by a lot though. At least when it comes to modern music that was originally recorded digitally. Records from digital original recordings, if mastered well sound very, very good… but again, modern music that was originally recorded on digital; well is just better being played from digital media. I like vinyl records for the nostalgia and mechanical physicality of experiencing my music. Sitting and dedicating my time just to listening to music and appreciating it seems to have more meaning and enjoyment coming from a record. And some records are better than others, depending on the mastering process and actual production of the record. My favorite alt rock records are from Nine Inch Nails. Now if it comes to oldies… music from say 70’s and earlier, its a big toss-up. Sometimes the record sounds better, sometimes a CD sounds better – just depends on the mastering and the condition of the record. I do find a lot of modern remasters of old music on vinyl record just aren’t that great, and I prefer the CD remaster or the original analog recording on an old record – but then its hard to find records that old that people actually took good care of.

    Swivel ain’t me.

That’s the only thing that is negative with these headphones. I’m an old fuddy duddy and holding the phone ( only one side gives me a challenge) to place over the ear. The listening experience is excellent! I hear everything in the games that I play. One game in particular, Hell Let Loose, uses footsteps as a means to use as a warning that you are not alone! Great price also! Quality, price and more patience on my part, and I have the best set headphones around.

These feel so nice to the touch

I really loved how soft these feel when I hold them. I can’t get over the softness of these earmuffs every time I grab them. These sound amazing and are super loud, so loud I find myself turning everything down as often times its too loud. I like that I have to lower the volume as my old headphones had their hinges broken so I increased everything to hear better. (These are def powerful sounding)I gave a mark off for sound quality and Noise Cancellation as its not the best but for what it is it does a super job at its value. For the price these are some dang good headphones. There are a few drawbacks that maybe the Devs will offer a v2 of this and I would gladly buy it.I have, I guess, a big head. So the grip of the muffs feels ok but maybe a hint of tightness. Its not uncomfortable at all feeling, but it does make my ears tender after some time. The muffs do often get all of my ears in but at times the placement requires tuning or my ears will hurt to be touched after a while. What I would like to see improved is as follows.Slightly larger earmuffs for those of us with big noggins or maybe a more rectangle shape for the muffs, like Logitechs G230. Those fit over my ears great. The Logi G230s also had much better breathing but the durbility sucked in them (They didnt grip too hard and still broke the hinges.)The material used in the earmuffs for the OneOdios feel flipping fantastic but don’t breath all that well. They don’t make my ears sweat but they do always feel heated. (Again I have a big head I guess, so not much room to breath with my ears in the muffs.More Wiggle room to fit my large head would be nice. Maybe a slightly wider headband? I think maybe half an inch wider would make it feel better for me but I wonder how that would affect gripping my head. The sound is great but often feels a bit too heavy on the base? Bass? Boom boom? Everything sounds a little deep or what is supposed to sound deep REALLY sounds deep. Music is great, but I find I have to lower the bass/base to make it sound a little better. Im not an audiophile and I do enjoy the rumble but maybe not that much. (I still love the heck out of these headphones tho)These are VERY worth the price I paid at the time (37), could use some tweaking here and there. They do NOT feel like they will break in my hands. They do feel a little rigid and slightly tight for my noggin size but they don’t make me worry they will snap one day. For plastic I gotta say they did a great job reinforcing the hinges.

Surprised at the sound and cable design.

I wanted a 1/4 to fit my Pro equipment rather than the “adapters” th ease headphones give the best of both worlds. Sound GREAT, truly surprised me. Time will tell how long they will last, I mean at this price…incredible!

Bring in Da’Noise, Bring in Da’Funk!

I am Deaf/HOH, and have been looking for a great OTE pair of headphones. I currently wear one hearing aide at the moment but that will change to 2 hearing aides soon. When I go to shows, such as a musical I need to have an assistive hearing device or I can’t hear the performers. It’s like going to a concert with cotton shoved in your ears. These had great reviews from DJs to musicians to just everyday people. Before I ordered, I sent them to my brother who is a professional Bass player in Nashville. I asked him what he thought before I ordered them. He said DO IT! They just came in and oh my goodness, what a sound!!! Number one, hellooooo recliner for your ears!! So comfortable, and fit completely over my hearing aide with no issues or feedback!! The sound is so crisp, so clear!! And holy schmoly the bass!! Can you say Bring in da’ noise, bring in da’funk?!!!! I love bass in music and these are incredible!! While listening to music I wouldn’t be able to hear anyone talk to me which haha could be a good thing. But I also have them louder than the hearies would normally have. My brother said he’s going to order a pair.I’m taking a course online and it’s all audio and video so I need a good pair of headphones for that. I can’t wait to try them when I sign on to see how clear that will be! Also in two weeks, I’m headed to a theatre where I’ll need the assistive listening device, and will have these headphones. I will do a follow up for you all as well for the Deaf/HOH community on how they will work with the device.I tried all different genres of music to hear how well each sound and so far I’m thoroughly impressed and so far the best pair I’ve ever had!! So far, I highly recommend if you like good quality sound for some amazing ear candy!!

    Very surprised

I wanted some headphones with more bass then my reference AKG K701’s. I listen to just about everything but was lacking some low end in the AKG’s and even though they are stellar sounding, needed a little thump. I spent a little time online looking for something that reviewed nicely and offered what I wanted. Among a sea of expensive reference headphones costing between $250 – $6000 I found a few that were reviewed well for under $100. I thought to myself that this couldn’t be true…I ended up seeing a review stating their love for these cans. To my surprise they were under $40. I decided to take a chance, albeit a small one, and order them. I had nothing to lose. When they came the first thing I noticed was that the build quality was definite no where near my AKG’s. The plastic feels cheap and hollow although they are very comfortable and seals my ears well. The materials that make up the structure were to be expected as, let’s be honest, they are $35 headphones so I wasn’t expecting much. I will say that the design is pleasant and the silver on dark brown leather looks tops.I decided to run them through my Nakamichi MR-1 tape deck connected to a solid state hybrid tube amp. I popped in an audiophile type II chrome version of The Polices Zenyattta Mondatta and let her rip, the first track being “Don’t Stand So Close To Me”. Upon first listening I could feel the thick atmosphere of the song followed by Stuart’s drums beginning to beat. The bass was tight and defined, far more pronounced the my other cans without being muddy. It was very crisp. The highs and mids were all there and pleasant to the ears. I could still hear plenty of detail in Stings voice and I was shocked that a cheap set of over-the-ear headphones could produce such an appealing experience. The same thing happened with every song I played, leaving rock for some Peter Tosh Reggae, then some Electronica via Daft Punk fand finally ended in some older school Hip-hop, Luniz “ I Got 5 On It”.After a week of listening I still feel the same way. I actually listen to them every chance I get while my $500 reference AKG’s sit. Even though the AKG’s have clearer high notes, more special detail and clarity, I find these less fatiguing and better at delivering the bass which rounds out more of the music I listen to. They are also have less impedance then the AKG’s so I can drive them with my phone. I also greatly appreciate the fact that you can flip the cord to either a 3.5mm or 6.5mm jack making them very universally usable for a lot of devices I have.Time will tell if the quality holds up but with a two year warranty and the reviews stating the customer service is excellent (hopefully will never find out) I am care free with my $35 purchase.

Very comfortable, good isolation, and easy 3.5mm & 1/4″ compatibility

Bought these near the beginning of COVID quarantine (oh, joy) because I was working from home and doing lots of Zoom with the rest of the industrialized world. I needed something with decent isolation to have some privacy and focus in my “home office” which is also my bedroom–my wife also has a workspace in the bedroom. You get the picture.I’m very impressed with the comfort of these. I wear glasses and many over-ear or on-ear headphones cause pain within twenty or so minutes by pressing my ears back against my glasses. That is not an issue with these cans. They can be worn for LONG periods with no discomfort at all. The pads are nice and thick, but I have had no problems with sweating even when it was 78 degrees in our bedroom during the Phoenix summer. An outstanding feature is the 1/4″ AND 3.5mm connectors on either ear. I have both 3.5mm equipment as well as 1/4″ because I’m using both laptop audio jacks as well as USB recording interfaces. Having the ability to switch between them with one cable–just reversing the cable–is a brilliant bit of design. Love this feature. The cable is disposable, so I’m not worried about replacing it–easy and cheap. However, I do worry about long-term reliability of the jacks on the phones themselves. I try not to switch the cable very often.Sound quality is great for me. I have pretty severe hearing loss in my right ear in the middle frequencies (500Hz-4kHz), so audio always a problem for me, but not because of these phones (oddly enough, I do audio signal processing for a living). For music, my brain fills in the gaps effectively and I have no complaints at all.The only niggle I have is that because they fold up for storage and travel (a nice feature) plus have a DJ-style swivel to use only one ear easily, the ears can flip over and I have to figure out which way is up. This happens fairly often, even when just setting them down on the desk. I have to look at which side the audio jacks are on and get those pointing down. Not a big deal, just a minor annoyance. Not anything that takes away from the joy of using them since the other features and quality are excellent.Truly the best feature, though, is that with the dual cable, you can connect one side to the other in a loop and have INFINITE MUSICS. I can just get some music going into the headphones, and if I’m fast enough, I can connect both ears together with the cable and have music all day. Such a nice bonus.

    Love these!

I had an old pair on headphones I used when playing my Yamaha electric piano. When the foam around the ear pads wore out, I looked for some more and found these. I absolutely love these! I like the sound of my piano better with these than without, and my piano sounds really good without headphones, too! I ordered another pair for use with my keyboard.

The Biggest Bang for your Buck

I purchased a pair of these headphones as a Christmas gift a few weeks ago. I do audio mixing as a hobby and had planned on using an old pair of Sennheiser HD497s for use as a portable reference headphone to listen to my mixes from my iPhone (after I had my 4th failed pair of Apple earbuds this year). After finding these cans had gotten worn out over the past decade (their sound stage was pretty much gone), I decided I’d buy a pair of these for this purpose given the excellent reviews; reports of great sound quality and value.Upon receiving these headphones I confirmed the playback controls worked perfectly with my phone and a 3.5MM to Lightning adapter. This was one feature that really sold me on using them with my phone. However the 3.5MM cable only features a simple playback control and no volume adjustment. I can’t tell you how many times I used the volume control on my Apple earbuds when out and about, so this was disappointing. However, in terms of audio quality, most reviewers were dead on! The audio fidelity is outstanding and perfectly compliments the AKG know 702s I use when mixing on my laptop. They also do a great job in minimizing outside noise and barely leak sound to the outside world (which doesn’t disturb those around you). My iPhone 7 has no issues driving these to their fullest potential. I have notice a few quality difference to my AKGs, which is not unexpected given they are a superior pair:- There is a significant bias/emphasis on low end (bass frequencies). However bass sounds full and rich. Midrange sounds neutral to my ears. Highs are generally good, with delicate percussive instruments (triangle, chimes, etc) bring reproduced in full detail. I have noticed that highs can more easily distort with these cans however when compared with the AKGs.- A bigger issue (and it is minor) I have in terms of audio fidelity is with the sound stage of this unit. This likely is due to comparisons with the AKGs, and most consumers of these headphones won’t notice. The stage sounds significant more narrow than the wide open AKGs, which takes some time to get used to.With those being said, these issues are minor to me. I actually find these to offer a “reality check” of sorts for my work and help me make adjustments on my mixes. Finally, in terms of comfort, appearance and build quality I am mostly satisfied with my experience thus far. I was initially not a fan of the swivel on the drivers, but have gotten used to this. The headband is made of plastic, which makes me worry about breakage over time, so I take care to not bend these too much when putting them on. Boy are these comfortable! I like the feel of the material used in the pads. I wear glasses with these on as well, and can wear them for hours with no strain on my ears. Really outstanding design. In summary, these headphones are a superior value for your money. You’ll get a comfort, outstanding audio quality and compatibility with both 3.5MM and 6.5MM plugs (used in receivers, mixing boards, external sound cards, etc)”. If not for the low end emphasis these would be great for audio recording/monitoring/mixing. Easily matching higher end headphones. I think the recipient of my Christmas present this year is in for a treat!

Much bang and WOW for your money as these sound like more expensive headphones!

I recently bought the Pro-50 and Pro-30 headphones. This review is for the Pro-30 headphones and I have to start by saying that I am blown away by this $40 headphone. The sound quality is impressive for the price! They are fun sounding, a bit warm and not so flat in terms of the frequency response. Yet, it isn’t quite a “V” shaped frequency response as they have very good, smooth mids and crisp highs that aren’t sibilant or fatiguing, but the bass is definitely a bit elevated without being overdone or being too bass heavy. All in all, these headphones sound fun but still quite balanced as the lows, mids and highs are beautifully calibrated together to produce a sound that is so nice and they handle most genres of music well! What I believe also makes these headphones sound great, and really amazes me, is the instrument separation and imaging. You can hear the different instruments stand out from each other and they don’t get muddled together. You can also hear clearly and smoothly when an instrument or sound shifts from the right channel to the left channel and vice versa. This creates a sense of soundstage (even though it tends not to be very wide in closed back headphones but still) that is hard to get from closed back headphones. I’ve never heard this kind of sound reproduction from a $40 headphone! To put it into perspective, I also own the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x (also a closed back headphone that is a bit more flat yet still dynamic) and these headphones give you about 75% to 80% of the sound of the ATH-M50x for almost a quarter of the price! This is a great headphone for enthused beginners or people wanting to experience a better sound quality at a budget price. What are other nice things? They come with two cables so that you can also use them to connect and answer calls on a cell phone. I still have not tested the call quality but hope to do that soon and I will update my review. The ear pads are nice and comfy and the headphones don’t clamp too hard so they can definitely be worn for long periods of time.Cons: These headphones are primarily made of plastic so I would suggest treating them with kindness so they don’t break or get damaged. I’m not sure how durable they will be because of this. It’s still something worth dealing with considering the great sound that comes out of these headphones. Another negative that other reviewers have pointed out is that even when the headband is fully extended, they barely accommodate people with big heads or “taller” head dimensions. Lucky for me, they fit just right and I am a pretty tall person. Hopefully, OneOdio will correct this in future versions of their headphones. Finally, sometimes but rarely the lows do get muddy if there is too much going on in the music you are listening to. Generally, the bass is controlled and these do handle most lows very well.To sum up, even though these headphones are mostly plastic and may feel cheap, they produce very nice, fun sound with slightly elevated bass but with impressive instrument separation to give an immersive and pleasant listening experience that is hard to find at just under $40. I highly recommend these to anyone especially those on a budget.I will review the Pro-50 headphones in the next few days and will write my review for those and will update this review to compare them to these Pro-30 headphones. Very close to audiophile quality sound for those on a tight budget!

This review is for the brown/silver Oneaudio Pro 30 headphones. For the price you are not going to beat the sound quality. I have been difficult to please in audio products for years. Last few years as audiophile products prices has dropped I have been able to afford good quality audio equipment. My main headphones I now use are Sennheiser HD 6xx, Modded Monolith M650, various Sony bluetooth headphones. IEMS: Kzn AS10, Tin Audio T2 Po, Various Klipsh, Shure.First thing the sound. Listening was done with lossless and MQA files. For the price these are very well balance with enough detail to get an idea what audiophiles look for in quality sound. Highs have decent detail. Not what a sub $50 over the ear headphone normally produces. mids are nice. Again, well balanced with decent detail. Well placed at just under forward sounding. Bass is strong without being boomy. Decent detail. high bass is acceptable and does not muddy the lower mids ACCEPT in music with more complicated lower mid accompanied with lots of bass . Over long listening sessions I felt the need to turn it down a bit but I did not feel it unpleasant. It’s hard to peg down the sound style. It’s not a V shaped sound as the highs are not pronounced and the bass while not overdone is a bit higher then most flat clinical headphones. These general sound better then 95% of the headphones at this price range. Sound-stage is good for a closed back headphone, especially for the price range. Instrument separation is good. General clarity is good. I have a hard time saying these would be good for STUDIO mixing as the emphasis on bass is a bit high for mixing since you would want as flat as response as possible. These are fun to relax and listen to. Again this is all better then what you would expect at this price range. Even in today’s tough market. After sitting for hours with them I feel they are so close audiophile sound it’s unbelievable at this price.Comfort. Very comfortable and light. The pads are deep and soft. Again almost unheard of at this price range. Good clamping force. Soft headband. Only thing I noticed is slightly warm around the ears over an hour or two but nothing uncomfortable.Build. Here is where it gets tricky. First off its not bad for the price. I would love to see them with less plastic. They have opted for low cost bulky plastic components. I believe they are bulky to give them extra strength. This isn’t unusual in the lower cost market but I have seen better designs from competitors but with lower quality sound. The drivers are where it shines with a 90 mm higher quality driver. A good choice. Excellent comfort. You can tell they spent time to get the whole package right. No loose, weak or creaky parts or joints! If they had made these with more metal components I would have been shocked.Design: Casual with enough small detail. Definitely not fashion cans like Beats but I feel they are on the edge of “bulky”. I understandable this is to give the plastic extra strength.Overall they did an excellent job deciding where to go with cutting costs and still making a good product. Although they don’t go into great detail and emphasis on the warranty but it is better then average with a full year. I have heard it mentioned elsewhere that it’s two years but can’t confirm it.I hope this is just the beginning for them. I can seem them building on this start to get their name out there and I will definitely be keeping an eye on this company. Hopefully we will see them making headphones with better materials but keeping the same attention to balancing the sound with comfort.

Cushioned and comfortable on a big head

I use these for online meetings in my work.Sounds is great. Feel and material construction are solid and well made. Comfort is great even on my large cranium. The ear cups are soft and confident, but with enough tension to stay in place. My small criticism is that the mic wire could be longer and curled.

    It’s worth the price

So my first impression of these is they are very handsome, the brown leather like pads, the chrome ear pieces, and the matching brown cords. I put them on, they are very comfortable for an over the ear headset, no binding, and nice soft padding the really cuts the outside noise. I like that they included two cords, the standard mini plug and a coiled 1/4″ cord as well for my big stereo or for headset sharing. I wish they had made both of the cords coil cords. Now the sound – these guys are big on bass! They have a strong bass booming bass that usually takes boosting to be that strong. The high end though is a little brittle, it doesn’t have a smooth presence like a higher end headset. Now they are brand new, the drivers might need to be broken in a bit to settle the high end down. I’ll use them a while and see, but overall I think these were a good buy for this price!
