Where is the key to open?

The product is perfect but it requires a key to open and there is not one sent with the package. I needed this on Friday. What do I do now? Is there something else I need to know?

    Samsonite suitcase

I like the hardsides. I didn’t like that there are not more separate compartments for my stuff. I had some trouble rolling it around at the airport. So the wheels could be better. I’ve only used it once so couldn’t say anything about how sturdy it is.

    Great for shorter trips

Used on a couple shorter trips. Haven’t flown with them yet. Bought one for me and one for hubby. We both are able to pack quite a bit of clothes, etc and it’s nice having the hard sides. Love having one side with a mesh cover with an easy to use for access. Everything stayed put. Wheels worked great. Love that you can use with all 4 down or you can tip and pull with the handle.

    Great luggage

Love these suitcases. They pack so well and they expand which is so helpful. I didn’t think I’d like a suitcase that packed clothes on both sides but this one is great. I use packing cubes and it made packing so easy in this suitcase. Plus it’s easy to recognize when you check a bag at the airport. Can’t wait to use the other sizes. Highly recommend.

Would give 5 stars if wheels were a little better

PROS- I have traveled to several international destinations, and used this as both carry on and checked luggage. I have taken this on several city streets, and road trips. It’s held up well.- It’s lightweight, and doesn’t waste space in the interior with the design.- It always fit in the overhead bin- The wheels don’t get in the way of zipping (I’ve heard some people complain about inadvertently touching wheels because of the design on some cases, but I’ve never experienced that with this one).- It’s usually the distinctive one on the conveyer belt (color), but I also use a distinctive luggage tag.- Pricepoint is spot on for the use I have had out of it so far and how it’s held up so far.CONS- even this small version can be packed beyond acceptable weight limits because it’s quite roomy (and I also use compression packing cubes), so be mindful of that depending on the airline’s restrictions for carry on and overhead size.- The wheels are good, but could be better. They become troubled when you walk too fast, and if you try and put a bag on top of the case. It’s still maneuverable, but have to be more careful. The weight makes a difference.

solid, roomy, and easy to use

It took me a long time to like hard cases – I always wanted to stuff one more thing into my bag, and so ‘liked’ that I could ‘stretch’ a soft sided bag.But years of air travel have cured me of that, and I much prefer the security of a good ABS case. This case is roomy, and provides a number of useful zippered compartments and dividers to assist in packing and organization. The handle extends to two stops, good for both me and my wife. And while I prefer to have two wheels when alone, as I walk fast, this case and its four wheels does a great job – it rolls freely and easily when running on two wheels, but it also maintains its poise when using all four – and four wheels is much easier to handle when we have more stuff!Overall a great addition to our luggage!

    Love it!

Exactly what I was looking for. Needed something just a little larger than a carry on but not so big I couldn’t maneuver it. Love the spinner wheels and the ability to expand it if I pick up a bunch of souvenirs on my trip 😊Seems to be pretty durable but I’ve only taken it on one trip. Has a side handle and a top handle, but could use a handle or grip on the bottom for lifting. Thought it was a pretty good value. If I need another piece of luggage I will definitely consider this brand again

    Sturdy and lightweight

I bought this suitcase for my sister. She was so excited to receive it—it was everything she wanted. And then she made the mistake of locking it. Even though she wrote down the number, she made the mistake of closing the suitcase to check the lock. Well, the lock wouldn’t unlock. She had to have the lock cut out because she was leaving the next day. If you make the same mistake, make sure you leave enough time between testing the lock and your trip so you can go to a licensed Samsonite dealer to undo the lock.

    Solid product

I travel a lot and sometimes by plane and mostly by car. I use this either way. The casters seem adequate, at this price point, and I know that’s what will prob eventually fail. So far so good though. It rolls very easily either on two wheels or all four. The pull out handle is just barely long enough for me, I’m 6’3. For the money, I have low expectations on its durability but I’m ok with taking the chance. I’ll probably eventually buy something better though.

Great Product, but read this IMPORTANT ADVICE if shopping for your first hard suitcase

This is a very good quality suitcase. It was the first hard case that I’ve bought. For the most part, I am satisfied, but I wish I had known a couple more bits of information before I purchased. If you are also buying YOUR FIRST HARD CASE, read these IMPORTANT TIPS. TIP #1: This case closes with a ZIPPER ONLY. It does not have a latch. Zipper-only hard cases are more vulnerable to malfunction because zippers can break or split apart with stress or excessive wear. If the zipper splits on this case, you do will have a latch as a backup method to keep your case closed and you may find your self in a predicament when you need to check your broken-zippered bag at the airport. Therefore, if you buy this case, be sure to also buy luggage straps. Luggage straps are extremely effective to keep your case closed and will help prevent excessive stress or damage to the zipper. When buying luggage straps, write your initials on each strap with a permanent marker. This will not only help identify your bag in a busy airport, but also make the straps less desirable for thieves. TIP #2: I bought the (very large) 28-inch version of this case because I wanted to have plenty of space to pack for long international trips. In hindsight, I wish I had bought a size or two smaller because filling up a case this big with normal items like clothing, shoes, and toiletries will almost always put you over the airline weight limits (and be very heavy to lift). The case is very light, but I can only fill it up about 75% to avoid paying the “excess weight” fees. With the case being 25% empty, I have lots of open space in the bag and my belongings bounce around inside. When I arrive at my destination, I often find my loosely packed belongings out of order and disheveled. For my next suitcase, I will buy something a tad bit smaller so I can fill 90% or 100%. When filled to 90-100%, my belongings would be tightly packed and more secure inside.

Perfect size – not really small but huge

I was looking for a suitcase that was larger than my carryon but smaller than my large suitcases and this was perfect. It is lightweight but still sturdy, and allows for packing on both sides. It was exactly what I was hoping for, and the color is distinct from the typical greys and blacks. I love it.

ALMOST WHAT I was looking for

these seem sturdy enough however they were more plastic looking than I wanted which was too bad because these are light weight, the zippers lock, and they roll very well. Perhaps if I were in high-school or early college the plastic look would have been OK, however they looked a little silly for a mature adult.

    Good bag with limitations

What I like most about this bag is that it is lightweight, holds more than I anticipated, has a narrow retractable handle, and is easy to maneuver. It is a replacement for a fabric suitcase with only 2 wheels and a wide retractable handle that can’t accommodate my new sleeved carry-on. I just used it for the the first time though and was not pleased with the way it rolled with the additional weight of the other bag. Without the bag it was much easier to maneuver. If I had it to do over, I would have purchased a bag with heavier duty double rolling wheels. I still recommend this suitcase though—it just depends on how you intend to use it.

    Love this suitcase!

Now that I’ve had the chance to travel with this, I can finally give my full review. I purchased the carry-on size for a trip overseas and based on the reviews, I chose this particular carry-on size since most people shared that it fits the overhead bins of most airlines. Obviously, double-check YOUR specific airline before purchasing, just to be safe!So let’s start with the COLOR – I opted for the “Caribbean Blue” color and it is a very noticeable shade of blue, which was great since I was able to identify my suitcase as it went through security and as I also checked it during my flight back home. In terms of DESIGN – this is a hardshell case and it is quite sturdy. I have been a loyal Samsonite customer for years and so I had good faith in the quality and design of this suitcase. The suitcase does come with a TSA-approved lock system, which you use by setting your own code.I was able to easily navigate the luggage. However, the WHEELS at some point were a bit awkward. When rolling it sideways, sometimes there was a weird lag to it, but otherwise, it was able to smoothly roll through carpet, tile, and whatever surface I put it through haha. Now to the important part – STORAGE – I am an over-packer, and yes, I did need to EXPAND this suitcase to accommodate my clothes and shoes. initially, I had used packing cubes but found it too clunky and took up too much space and therefore, simply opted for the rolling method instead. So as a CARRY-ON, even when expanded this suitcase did fit my JetBlue overhead compartment. I was super nervous that it wouldn’t but thank heavens it did! As a CHECKED BAG, this survived the brutality of the luggage carousel and the manhandling from the airport workers and I was so happy that it came back to me in tact.Overall, I am very pleased with this suitcase and cannot wait to use it some more for future trips to come! Highly recommend!

    Perfect carryon size

We love this small suitcase. My husband travels for work so it gets a lot of use but when we took short weekend trips as a family my kids would fight over who got this one so we bought a second one. Durable. Compact. The perfect carryon piece of luggage for a flight or a great size for a short trip.

    Wheels are awful!

Purchased two of these 20-inch carry-on bags for an international trip. They were perfect size-wise; light, easy to pack, expanded to hold all of our items. The wheels are awful! They don’t roll well and therefore the bags are always tipping over. We purchased them far in advance of our trip and didn’t use them until after the return window. Beware!

    2nd time purchase

Already owned the next larger size but needed smaller to carry on. Smooth wheels to push along. Fit about 6 days worth of clothing along with 3 pairs of shoes. Could fit more if expanded but then not sure if it would still be “carryon size”. The larger size has survived 2 trips being checked in with no damage to case or wheels.

Suitcases themselves are Great… wheels suck.

Let me start by saying I am a longtime Samsonite fan. All of my luggage has been Samsonite. I travel a-l-o-t for work and have loved the Samsonite brand for durability and travel smarts. Well, so far, this luggage set seems to be pretty durable but as far as the travel smarts… they missed the mark when it comes to the wheels.Let’s start with the Good. I went with hard-sided this time as these are the polycarbonate which hold up far better to the grind of being thrown around by luggage handlers at the airports. From all of my reading, the non-polycarbonate type just don’t hold up to that. Not to mention, much of my type of travel (I work in the film industry) is in and out of cars, along side my kit and other gear being loaded in and out… so lots of tossing and banging around. And they have held up like a champ so far (about a year of ownership so far & many, many trips since). Since they are hard sided, they lack the various external pockets that their non-hard sided counterparts have, but that is par for the course and is a trade-off for the durability. They do have a much better clothing strap system inside than my previous Samsonite luggage. It really seems to hold everything in place far better and snug. In addition, on the one side has that typical zippered net closure as well. All three pieces have the expandability zippers and surprisingly (for this consummate overpacker), I don’t need to utilize them much… nice to have though. One sort of wonky thing for me is, that they have an integrated TSA compatible lock that the zippers connect into, with a combination you can set. It’s wonky because I have a difficult time with it. Maybe it’s because of the length of my nails as I keep them fairly long, I have no idea. And it’s not that I can’t use it, I just seem to fight with it, especially the combination dials. Some may not have issues with it… might just be me.My biggest issue is the wheels… they just stink. I mean, horrible. The only ones that are somewhat okay, are on the biggest suitcase, but even that.. they just don’t wheel great. Especially on any sort of carpet or textured surface… which is well, many surfaces you are rolling it on. And when you get any sort of bump… like a transition at a doorway, forget it… they just won’t go over it. And the smaller suitcases? Ugh… just awful for wheeling. Most people like to or Need to attach some other bag to the handle of their main suitcase. Whether that be a toiletry bag, a computer bag a backpack or something else…. I haven’t found one that doesn’t want to dump the suitcase over. And trying to roll them, with something on top, attached to handle is like pushing it through quicksand. The concept that these are supposed to be spinner wheels is completely lost. You are constantly fighting it! I literally give up and use them all like an old school suitcase that only has two wheels! Which defeats the purpose of buying a suitcase set with spinner wheels. And the smaller the suitcase, the worse it gets. The largest suitcase, when it’s full… it’s very difficult for me to use in a non-upright position as it’s heavy. It’s easier to roll as it has more weight to it (when full), but it’s still difficult. Samsonite definitely missed the mark with these wheels. It’s sad as it’s the first luggage set I’ve not really been happy with.I’m just fortunate that most of my travel is by car and I usually have a cart with me for my mobile office so it’s not as important. If I was traveling more by plane… I’d really be annoyed and probably would have returned it. The wheels are just horrible. So if you are traveling a lot where the wheels on the suitcase are expressly important.. make sure you test these out sufficiently or just try something else, as much as this Samsonite fan is pained to say that.

I’m upgrading from a soft sided eBags brand suitcase. I really love this new luggage. The wheels work well pulling or pushing and it looks like it will take a beating. I also found a great deal on Amazon Warehouse Deals. Pretty happy about the whole thing. Looking at buying the carry on next.

It would be hard for an airline to destroy these

2 of my previous suitcases had been damaged beyond repair by an airline. Looking for a new set I picked these both for the name and how they looked. They were an excellent buy. The blue is more of a teal which looks great, happier with the actual color then how it looked online, much richer. Absolutely solid, well made cases, built-in combination lock, all zips working easily. The wheels made it so easy to move these around. Hopefully I won’t need another set for years but highly recommend these.

Quality zippers inside and out. Sturdy. Nice divisions on inside with a zippered net and cover belt. Durable. SAMSONITE has maintained its reputation over the years. Best priced luggage. Most brands are way overpriced. This one is not. Used it several times and it looks brand new still. Scuffs were washed off with water.

Super bag, espeially when comparddto others. Wheels glide much better; sturdier handle than most, AND it comes with standard 10 year warranty, whgile being priced the same as otoer bages. Also, TSA travel locks are an excellen feature. The bad is “split” in terms of storage; most carry-ons are one big pocket.overll, this is an EXCELLENT piece of luggae.

    What a Life Saver!

I was on work travel and my suitcase broke right as I got to my hotel. I was able to order and get this suitcase within two days. Very sturdy and reliable. Made the trip back home without any problems and have made several trips with this suitcase since. Lots of great color options but I went with light gray. Would definitely recommend. It has two compartments; one fastens with elastic strap and the other side closes with a zipper. Small zipper pouch along for smaller items.

    Worked Fine for Me

I used this on a recent nine day vacation and have no complaints. It’s easy enough to maneuver, pretty lightweight and holds a lot. I didn’t examine it upon returning home, but didn’t notice any external scratches or damage after flights and being shoved in and out of a car multiple times.

    Very nice suitcase

This suitcase is beautiful and easily recognizable, sturdy and holds a lot! I wish there were more pockets and/or compartments in it. There is only one slim pocket inside. If you have many smalls, the crossover strap doesn’t exactly hold things in place. That said, it got my stuff where it needed to be over 5 flights, a couple of trains and other ground transportation without a scratch on it. Very durable!

    Needed an updrade.

These are lightweight and easy to pack once you figure out that clothing should go on the side with straps and other items go into the side with mesh zipper. Otherwise the loose items fall out when opening the suitcase. My only suggestion/complaint is there is no handle on the side of the suitcase which makes it difficult to get out of overhead storage or the back of cars.

Doesn’t pull well with a bag on top.

Good size. Packing cubes work well in the suitcase. Durable. I am not sure I like having to lay it out with both sides taking up space. I put my packing cubes in drawers so I would not need so much floor space. The main problem came when trying to move my carry on and the suitcase together. Sometimes I needed help getting it to roll without getting stuck or tipping over.

    Great suitcase

Bought this for a trip to Italy. It held a lot of clothing and shoes with packing cubes and shoe bags, the wheels made it extremely easy to wheel through the airport, and it has the locking capability, although I didn’t use that feature. The color is beautiful and makes it easier to pick out at the baggage claim carousel. I recommend this suitcase.

    Sturdy, looks nice.

Suitcase is sturdy and looks nice. Easy to maneuver and the zipper is strong. The instructions for using the TSA lock were vague, so I used a regular lock instead. If I had time, I could have looked it up online. Great value for the money, but be mindful that if using the extension feature, this will not meet TSA standards For carryon. Otherwise, nicely designed and keep clothing in place. Recommend.

    The Pink Panther of Travel

The Samsonite Omni PC Hardside Expandable Luggage is not just a suitcase. Oh no, it’s the diva of airport runways, the unmissable flamingo in a sea of luggage monotony. The color? Let’s just call it Radiant Pink or ‘Where’s-My-Sunglasses-At’ Pink! This 24-inch checked-medium luggage doesn’t just hold clothes, it gobbles them up. I packed two weeks’ worth of vacation outfits, a hoard of beach towels, three novels, and I’m pretty sure I lost my Chihuahua in there at some point. (Don’t worry, Fifi was found safe and sound hiding in a shoe.)The hard-shell exterior is tougher than a diamond-coated armadillo. It took the full brunt of airport baggage handling like a champion, emerging on the carousel unscathed and gleaming like a pink beacon of victory. It scoffs at rough handling, chuckles at scratches, and has a hearty laugh at dents. And the spinner wheels! They should have their own Olympic event. They spun so smoothly, I half expected the suitcase to break into an ice-skating routine right there in the airport terminal. Whether we were making a mad dash for the gate or gracefully sidestepping foot traffic, this suitcase twirled with the grace of a prima ballerina. As for the expandable feature, it’s like a magic trick. I’m talking rabbits-out-of-hats level of sorcery. It swallowed my impromptu holiday purchases with room to spare. I suspect it secretly leads to Narnia. All in all, if you’re looking to travel in style, the Samsonite Omni PC Hardside Expandable Luggage is your ticket to ride. Not only will you have enough room for everything but the kitchen sink, but you’ll also be the proud owner of the most dazzlingly pink suitcase this side of the galaxy. Just remember to keep a leash on small pets. They may get lost in the cavernous interior!

    Two trips, looks like new

I’ve now checked these bags round trip twice, once with a layover/bag transfer, and they still look like new. So far, so good!

    Love samsonite luggage !!

I like the color and the durability of this suitcase brand. I have had the 20″ carry on size without issue for 7 years.

Don’t over load these cases. 50 lbs. Max

Perfect sizes, easy to organize and keep belongings in place while you travel. If you need to open on the go everything will remain in place.

I thought the case would be harder. It is like plastic.

    GREAT IN SO MANY WAYS

Suitcase was very light and relatively easy to wheel. Though, when I had to pick it up it was awkward, like it was unbalanced. I moved my stuff around in suitcase to get it close ot same weight on both sides to see if that was the issue, but had same result. I just had to use two handles. I didn’t see any other comments on this issue so maybe it was just me. I was out of the return window, because I probably would have returned. Also, wish there was a little pocket on the netting side of suitcase.

Super cool sporty and stylish bag

Love how durable this bag feels. Color is spectacular. Very good for a 2 night trip. Only maybe wish it had the dual wheels. If you want the charge port opt for the v2. But I’m happy without that. I would buy again.

Smart suitcase, looks like it is built to lastSamsonite Omni PC Hardside Spinner 20, Caribbean Blue, One Size

My last carry on suitcase served me well for over 12 years, accompanying me on countless trips, usually over-stuffed, through winter weather, through slush and rain and dragged across the cobble-stone streets in Berlin. In the last couple years it began to show it’s age, but it wasn’t until the handle finally ripped off and the inner lining tore a small hole on my most recent trip that I admitted it was finally time to move on.My initial inclination was to buy something cheap – I don’t need fancy luggage, I got student loans to pay… So I was poking around and looking at options in the $30 – $40 market, and there were some that looked ok. But then I would dig into the reviews and read about them breaking on the first trip, or having stuck wheels or finicky handles… Not feeling satisfied I put off the purchase for a while. I went to a store and looked at some of these models in person, and I was startled by how flimsy they felt in person. They were not built to handle the abuse of transatlantic air-travel. Feeling ambivalent, I put off the decision yet again.Fast forward to Tuesday of this week, no suitcase purchased, my flight is Friday morning. I pull my old trusty carry-on out of storage and seriously debate taking it on one last journey… just one more time?? The suitcase does not want. So I come back to Amazon and search again until I find this suitcase. It’s not super cheap, but it’s not expensive either, and it has a great color, and good reviews, and it sturdy in the photos… I’m still undecided, but, well, clock is ticking, I bite the bullet.Suitcase arrived just in time for my flight 🙂 My roommate carried the box upstairs for me this afternoon and when I thanked her, commented on how light it was. As soon as I open it I am relieved, this is a strong and sturdy suitcase, and it looks smart. The handle is long, and slides out easily, doesn’t rattle around like those other flimsier models did. Wheels are seemingly good quality. The body looks quite durable and scratch resistant, the zipper is good quality, oh and there’s even a lock. It holds a lot of stuff for how small it is, and it is expandable which is helpful for people who sometimes overpack.UPDATE: Suitcase held up perfectly over 4 four flights over the holidays, on two of which it actually had to be checked because the flight was very full. Not a single scratch or dent, no signs of wear, and it was easy to travel with – rolled smoothly and easily, sturdy handle.

    Awesome combo, price was great

I’ve been a soft side luggage guy for awhile, swapped to rigid after a trip chewed up another samsonite carry on forced to check. The only miss is lack of a suit caddy for work clothes like a lot of the older samsonites provided, challenging finding a garment bag that fits without bogarting all of the available room in the small bag. Also, wheels are kind of chincy.

    Good quality, great value

After one trip to Europe with the new luggage, no complaints. Overall quality appears to be very good while being lightweight and aesthetically attractive. The cost is VERY reasonable, especially compared to similar options from lesser known companies. I bought the 3-piece set and my only complaint is the largest is VERY LARGE–much too large to be useful for me. Oh, well.

    Exactly as advertised

Suitcase is remarkably lightweight (even though I purchased the largest size), durable and is quite maneuverable. Impressive capacity. The color is also quite appealing. Teal.

    The Wheels

I’ve had this suitcase for exactly a year now. The suitcase itself is great, its lightweight, holds the perfect amount for a multi-day trip, fits nicely in overhead bins (and can be expanded a little if necessary), and the exterior has held up to a fair share of air travel. The big problem is the wheels. They were fairly smooth moving for the first month or two but started to show wear after that. After a year all four wheels have considerable wear and one is almost inoperable due the axle coming loose. Replacing the wheels should be very easy, its just 4 screws and putting in a replacement, however I’ve been unable to find an exact match. I contacted Samsonite and they said I could bring it in to send out for repairs which isn’t ideal right now. Samsonite gave me the number for the repair center and even they said the wheels were a problem with this piece of luggage but Samsonite doesn’t make replacement wheels for it so at best they’d just replace the suitcase (I actually like the suitcase). It’s a great suitcase but if you travel regularly and have to pull your suitcase across anything but smooth surfaces I’d avoid it.

Have this in 5 colors and 2 sizes

Great bag for traveling. My family has purchased these bags in the carryone and medium checked size they have been incredibly durable from weekend get aways in the car to spending 2 weeks in Brazil. The wheels roll smoothly and make them easy to maneuver. We have had the teal set the longest (4years) and they hold up well through baggage handling and we haven’t had any problems with them getting scratched. I love the zipper pocket on one side and the strap on the other and I love that all of them are expandable. I won’t buy any other luggage. Everyone likes that they have their own color.

    Great bag for traveling

Sturdy, love the color. Great to use as checked luggage for 2 people traveling for a few (maybe 3) days, or for 1 person traveling for a week. The bag itself is heavier than your typical soft shelled back, so keep that in mind. I plan on purchasing an additional bag for my wife, and a larger one for us to use when we travel together. Would recommend for anyone who needs quality luggage.

All Is Great EXCEPT The Wheels

This is a beautiful set of luggage. I purchased the set because of planned international trips, one short and one long. The carryon was spacious and I was able to pack four days worth of clothes easily. It was lightweight. I was able to put in the overhead storage without assistance. However, I did have a tote on top, which made maneuvering the luggage a bit difficult. It would tip over. The bag would roll out of my direction. On the way home (with a little more weight in the tote because of purchased items), I practically had to pull the bag from the metal part of the handle or do the traditional pull with the handle, no longer pulling while standing.I discovered the problem: NO DOUBLE WHEELS!!! If you want to roll and have the luxury of carrying the suitcase in the upright position, DO NOT get luggage without double wheels!I will be getting a different set because the wheels are definitely a dealbreaker for me. Were that not the case, this set would be a WINNER, WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!
